Principal

My name is Jarrod Bohannon. I am a 37-year resident of Lamar County. I attended the University of Southern Mississippi and received two degrees: a bachelor of science from the College of Health and Human Services, and a master's in education from the College of Education and Psychology. I began my career in education in 1992 and have served in three school districts over my 30-year career. I served as a teacher/coach, athletic director, facility director, assistant high school principal, and K-8 principal prior to coming to the Lamar County School District. Since joining the Lamar County School District in 2002, I have served as assistant high school principal, assistant middle school principal, dean of students, and district dropout prevention coordinator. I have been married to my wife, Lori Weaver Bohannon for 30 years. We have two daughters, Kylie and Lakelyn.

I, as well as our over 40 employees, am committed to the success of every student in Baxterville School. Our goal is to challenge and meet the needs of every student that comes through our doors. We want each student to graduate and become thriving productive leaders in our community. We are committed to the success of every child, and our success depends on the commitment of everyone who has a role with each of our students. We ask for your support as we positively work toward providing a high-quality education in a safe and nurturing learning environment where all students can succeed.

Yours in Education,

Jarrod Bohannon
